Labor Day Weekend at McGee Creek RV Campground - Mammoth Lakes
I took a long weekend to Mammoth Lakes in the eastern Sierras of Northern California during Labor Day weekend to see how my Airstream (and Land Rover LR3) would do with the trip up and over the Sierras.
It was also a chance to see Mammoth during the summer and probably more importantly, see one of my favorite bands, the Young Dubliners, headline at the Mammoth Rock and Rye festival on that Sunday.

I had waiting until July to book for Labor Day weekend, which meant that I ended up with the very last site (#2) which was right next to the RV park hosts and close to the RV park entrance. This park of McGee Creek RV park was elevated about 20 feet about the lower level of the park behind the site, so we had some privacy with no one directly behind us and also some room to set up a fire ring and the camping chairs to watch the spectacular night skies full of stars, including a couple of shooting stars!
